“All were baptized into Stewart Traill. In every sense of the word: his teaching, his concepts, his view on life, his skepticism of other Christians. Go and learn what this means”.

Blessed is he and blessed is she who is able to get free from the grip of Stewart Traill and the Church of Bible Understanding, and those who are able to overcome his lies and curses will have a great reward.

Welcome

Dan Cooper

"Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends; we're so glad you could attend. Come inside, come inside."

Yes indeed, Welcome, my old COBU friends (and new) and any and all who may be interested in our unique website and its message of deliverance. It's all about getting free from false religion, after having been ensnared by its deceitful wiles. Not an easy thing to do: to admit that you were wrong, because you followed a man or a group who was wrong. But once you take that important step, acknowledging that you were misled and that you misled others, each successive step becomes easier.

Yet after burying pain and resentment for years, it may seem like an impossible task. Indeed, in COBU it is, and equally so outside COBU while all its junk follows after you and remains such a domineering force in your life. But remember that God rewards those who seek him, and with Him all things are possible. Just reading this website with a little honesty will get you started. For he has set his seal of blessing upon it. We are witnesses of this, that he will supply the wisdom and strength--and everything you need--to escape the lies and confusion that have plagued each of us who gave our lives to and for this cult.

For the Good Shepherd doesn't forget his lost sheep, but seeks each one, doing whatever it takes to get your attention and to give you every opportunity to return to him. To restore what is rightfully his own. Infinite is his love and great is his patience, and here is another way he is trying to let you know that.
It is my great privilege to have heard his voice and answered his call; to contribute to this indictment of the cause of our woes in the church of our youth; and to add my vote of confidence in this gospel of peace. I heartily and hopefully endorse its content, its spirit, and its purpose.

It will be a struggle for you and may take time, so have patience with yourself. Read as much or as little as you can at a time. But please...read. It will be healing to your bones. For our wounds, in most cases, are severe and run deep. But ironically "blows that wound cleanse away evil", and there is much evil that was laid upon our heads and hearts.

The would-be sage quipped that a Christian can face anything and still have hope. This is true, though he himself didn't believe, but rather robbed us of our hope. So it will take faith, another commodity that he stole from Jesus and got us to place in himself. Anyone who honestly seeks the Lord will indeed prove His promises true, but for us it will mean facing much that we learned to habitually deny and excuse.

This is how Living Water has been blessed for years, and naturally we've desired to share it with you. But we no longer feel compelled to push our beliefs on others, especially on ones like ourselves who have been so abused by the arrogant techniques of our manipulative mentor.

Thus the necessity and the wisdom of the website. You can read it at your leisure. And contemplate it, chew on it, bang it around, agree or disagree, argue with yourself or with a friend. And perhaps you will put it to the test, to see if there's a blessing in it for you. Instead of prejudging, believing the worst, and looking for fault with preconceived ideas, behavior learned from the one we emulated instead of the Lord Jesus.

The COBU saga continues, but we can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. The cries of my heart were answered, although not in the way I imagined or was always comfortable with. But isn't God great! He has made a new way, for the way we have followed leads only to destruction. Carry on wayward son. It's been a long hard road that we've gone. In His and at your service, Dan Cooper.
